Truman de Beauvoir

People ask, "Is he named after the President (Harry Truman) or the writer (Truman Capote)?" We say both! When we picked him up, the man who had him had been calling him "Tulane." We didn't like that name, but wanted something that sounded similar that we liked. Truman came to us.
His full name is Truman de Beauvoir. He was given "de Beauvoir" because his breed is a French name, "Coton du Tulear," and as old feminists, we owe a debt to Simone De Beauvoir, the author of The Second Sex.
